EASST supports Essex Cricket to Keep Cricket Alive in Essex

Press Release  10th February 2020

Tendring Cricket Club receive a cheque from Essec and Southend Sports Trust (EASST) towards the cost of a defribrillator. The Community Development Manager, Graham Pryke, presented the defribrillator to Ian Robinson and Jack Tattersall from the club.

The purchase of this machine is particularly appropriate, as Jack provided emergency CPR to a member of another club during an away match, this coupled with his use of the defibrillator helped save this person's life.

Essex Cricket in the Community is very appreciative of the support given by EASST towards cricket in Essex. Over the last 2 years, EASST has provided some £50,000 of funding, which has assisted 37 clubs with funding towards a variety of projects totalling some £158,000, including purchases of rollers, mowers, practice facilities, defibrillators and numerous other items, with the EASST funding making up 31% means that for every £1 provided £2 was added to the donation.

This kind generosity is going to continue in 2020, when we hope to assist many more clubs.
